Hudson Siren

Inspired by The Odyssey, this experiment explores how AI Generater can transform an ordinary, familiar place into something mythological and cinematic.

The original footage was shot simply with my phone’s native camera along the Hudson River near my home. Starting from this everyday landscape, I used generative AI to reimagine the river as a mysterious mythic shoreline, which is filled with pale drifting fog, distant rocks, and barely visible sirens emerging through the mist.

Rather than generating an entirely new scene, the goal was to preserve the movement and physical reality of the original footage while using AI as a layer of visual transformation, allowing a familiar piece of New York to momentarily exist somewhere between reality, cinema, and mythology.
