Yihe Tao (一盒)
is an Illustrator and 3D generalist based in NYC
He builds up a surreal world that feels strangely familiar, somewhere between postwar graphic design
and a forgotten amusement park.
Yihe holds a BFA in Illustration (2022) and an MFA in Computer Arts (2026) from the School of Visual Arts. His previous work include, animated short Night to the End (2023), he led the project’s visual development as art director, this film has officially released by Bilibili. His illustration works has been exhibited across galleries and art fairs in both the United States and China.
Drawing influence from postwar Japanese artist Tadanori Yokoo and cross-cultural visual traditions, his work navigates between East and West through vivid color, symbolic imagery, and layered historical references. Yihe is making films and arts as a way to preserving curiosity, questioning reality, and tracing emotional connections within constructed worlds.
